OUR UNIQUE BUSINESS MODEL
We are a fiduciary which means our first obligation is to you the client. Our responsibility is to recommend the product or service that is best for you not just one that is “suitable”. Your account with BARIA is a custodian account held by a major financial institution you and your cosignatory are the owners and have complete control. We are a non-commission, fee based service wherein the Advisor provides investment advisory services for a fee. BARIA charges an advisory fee but does not charge commissions or mark-ups. BARIA supports the financial education of it clients and the general public through on-line financial literacy trainings and seminars featuring approved unbiased materials on all facets of personal and business financial management. We believe our best client is an informed client. In an effort to assist clients in managing the costs of a mutual fund based investment account, products such as ETF’s and no load funds are analyzed provided to clients as alternative investment options.
Clients may purchase investment products that BARIA recommends through brokers or agents that are not affiliated with BARIA. No amount of BARIA revenue comes from advisory clients’ commissions from the sale of investment products recommended by BARIA to our clients, including asset-based distribution fees from the sale of mutual funds.
BAKER & ASSOCIATES Registered Investment Advisors (BARIA) was founded by Aaron M. Baker in 2014 as a sole proprietorship with the primary objective of improving the financial wellbeing of its clients. The principal business of BARIA is providing investment advisory services for business and individuals which covers needs assessment, goal identification, planning and funding and may include preparation of business and personal financial statements reflecting net worth cash flow and income projections.
We offer two types of advisory services. We offer financial planning services and we offer funding services for private placements for business clients. In either case we use both fundamental and technical analysis in our evaluation process in order to determine the appropriateness of an investment or for seeking funding for a client. We also offer consulting services under separate contract.
We provide business advisory and personal financial planning services. Because each investor is unique we listen so that we may learn, we hear what you say to be sure we know what you want. We consider client investment preferences, goals and objectives as well as risk and return parameters. We also provide access to social impact investments as an option for our clients. BARIA works with individuals and organizations at all points in their life cycle.
We seek to make a market in Impact Investing. Impact investing is one form of socially responsible investing and serves as a guide for various investment strategies. According to the definition of the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN):
“Impact investments are investments made into companies, organizations, and funds with the intention to generate a measurable, beneficial social and environmental impact alongside a financial return. Impact investments can be made in both emerging and developed markets, and target a range of returns from below market to above-market rates, depending upon the circumstances.”
Impact investors actively seek to place capital in businesses, nonprofits, and funds that can harness the positive power of their enterprise. Impact investing occurs in public / private partnerships and across asset classes.
Impact investors are primarily distinguished by their intention to address social and environmental challenges through their deployment of capital. Criteria to evaluate the positive social and/or environmental outcomes of investments are an integrated component of the investment process.

Aaron Baker founded Baker and Associates Investment Advisors after twelve years of working with Private Equity groups The Angel Network Forum and Quantum Private Asset’s; providing investment advisory services through Merrill Lynch and providing Insurance services through American Insurance Group and MetLife. Aaron Baker is a Registered Investment Advisor and business owner experienced in business and financial management.
Prior to his Private Equity and Brokerage experiences Mr. Baker held management and leadership positions in major San Francisco based corporations including Levis Strauss, Bank of America and AT&T. He has been engaged in technology development and implementation, business development and management consulting services in the Bay Area for over three decades.
